I am currently visiting the Dream Center in LA. I have been here a day, and I have been blown away by what all goes on here. As a High School Youth Group our Mission Trip is here this summer June 8th-14th. I heard an amazing testimony last night from a man who has been in the DC program for 3 years. He had Meth issues, drinking issues, and severe family issues. He was able to break free from all of these things by steady path and consistent path of faith. He surround himself with people who cared about his every day decisions..the Dream Center was ableto assist him with support and the body of Christ. He is graduating from College this Thursday..for sure a God thing! I have seen the Dream Center in action...serving children...serving the homeless..serving those who have lost their way...God has been doing great things here. It will be interesting what God will do with our group when we venture here in June. We all have our paths we are currently on....distracting us from the voice of God..distracting us from those who want us to make better decisions...as you can see..I am including myself in this process by saying us. I worry about those things that have ahold of all of us..the things we turn to when we don't feel accepted, the things we do to fit in, the things we say to maintain the in-crowd status of our life. After hearing what the fella went through, I am confident that I have had a blessed life. People who have placed in my life by God. Trust me..it would of been easy for me to go down another path..chasing big money..chasing things in the bottom of glass or can....or even just shutting down because I felt like a victim in my own life. We all have stuff..it varies from person to person..but how we make it through that stuff is the real test of who we are..and who we are becoming.

This summer..our Youth Program will have a great opportunity to serve at The Dream Center...each of us will have choice..go on the trip and go right back to the same o same o...or we can choose to let Christ fill all the empty spaces our lives. We can come back a "new creation." My hope is that God gave us this opportunity to come to the Dream Center so that lives will be changed by what God does through us and by how God changes us on inside. James 4:8 Draw close to God and God draws close."
